If the old medium was moist, the existing roots may function reasonably well in S/H culture, so may take a long time to fail, giving the plant lots of time to get a good set of new roots.

Make sure the rhizome is right at the surface, and not submerged in the medium at all, or it will rot.

Thanks so much! So the rhizome, does that mean to make sure the bulbs are all sitting on top and not in the Leca? Thanks again for the help! Much appreciated!
