Click on the link.

Great idea, Ray. That's definitely 'orchid hack' worthy.

Yeah I thought you could not tell what the photo link was. Sorry.

It could be a spike but only time will tell for sure. On mine the new growth tends to look very pointed this growth on yours looks more round. So it could be. once it gets a little longer you will know better what it is. How cool any new growth is good growth to me.

However, I do have a doubt, please. If I cover up the top part, wouldn't it stop all air exchange in and out of the pot?

Not at all. That's the reason the outside diameter is an inch smaller than inside diameter of the pot, and likewise, why the hole in the middle is larger than the plant.

Plant ready for S/H? Please help! Male
Default Updates 2

Hello,

The new growth appears to be a new pseudobulb. Need second opinions though...

In anyway, I am happy that the plant has adjusted well in S/H and is growing a lot of new roots.

I have to water my S/H containers at least twice a week now or the reservoirs run dry.

So what's wrong with that? More water = faster growth

I was pointing out that watering S/H containers can't be by the calendar.
