Bllra. orchids in SH???
Hi,
I am considering switching my: Bllra. Big Shot 'Hilo Sparkle' into SH. My conditions (home growing) are: 68 degrees during the day and 66 at night during heating months. During warm weather when we run the air conditioner our house is typically around 77 degrees. Has anyone had success or failure with this type of orchid under similar conditions?
Thanks

Yes, and for good measure, check out the SH forum and you'll find lots of good information. Additionally you can check Firstrays.com (one of our members)

Sorry for taking so long getting this posted. Seems like I never have enough time to get everything done lol. Here are the pics, I went ahead and reported almost all of my new guys into S/H. Will update more pictures when I get home on how they are doing.

Thank you! They seem to be doing really well where I had placed them, however my heating mat came in and I am going to bring them in and place them on that for another week just to help give them a little under heat. With your winter conditions have you thought about using a heating mat or some kind of warming system to keep them a little warmer? It depends on what you are growing of course, but I am wondering if I should use my mat in the winter just to make sure my guys don't get too cold since I grow them outside in the summer and spring.

I think my Catts will be fine with the temps. I am not going to put any more phals in it. I will probably need to put a heating mat under them. I am only going to put cooler growing orchids in SH since I don't know how many heating mats I can keep track of
