week two, one fan of twinkle turning brown, but everyone else ok. Gave weak fertilizer of peters 20-20-20 this week, not using as much water as week one.
My semi-hydro experience has been good so far. In April/May I switched 7 Phaps, 6 Phal type Dendros and 2 Phals into S/H and all but one Phal are doing very well. I used plastic tumblers and 24 oz. Plastic disposable cups. One of the Paphs is about to bloom and all of the Dendros are growing lots of new roots. The Dendros were all from the bargain bench and on their way out, so the improvement is dramatic.
This week I applied a light dose of MSU fetilizer since I use RO water, the catts are looking the best the others seem to be just status quo.
Lost a fan off one of the twinkles but it didn't look to good to start. Really don't think it had anything to do with S/H. The catts have turned a real dark green trying to find them more light.
The water bottles I am using for pots are too small having to fill it every other day. Trying to think of something else to use. So far so good!!!
Tomorrow makes one month in S/H, I am impressed. They all are looking fine, lost that one fan on the twinkle and that was it. Leaves are a deep green new shoots on the catts. Will give them a splash of fish fert. the end of the week.
I hadn't thought about it till now what do I do when the weather gets in the forty's. Do they like cold water as well????
