Paph lowii for Semi/Hydro Male
Default

I have never found a phrag that didn't love S/H culture.

Someone on another forum told me that Phrag caudatum "could not possibly" do well in it, but my plant isn't paying any attention to that.

The bottom lione is that ANY plant CAN BE grown in Semi-Hydroponic culture - IF it, plus the rest of your conditions are right for the plant. "S/H" does not fully define all of the necessary parameters of good orchid culture; it merely address water and nutrient delivery.

Paph lowii for Semi/Hydro Male
Default Update on Paph lowii

I transfered this plant to S/H from fir bark paph mix two weeks ago. The stem that was just emerging at the time of transplant is now nearly a foot long! Also, roots that were actively growing at the time of transplant continue to grow and have a white tip. One growing root is directly under the drain hole and is submerged for a day or two at a time sometimes, but continues to grow fine. Cant wait to see this baby bloom!
