I got a seedling Encyclia cordigera from Ray in early August 2015. It had two pseudobulbs in growth. After a few weeks I decided to repot it. I found out there were two seedlings in the pot, one very small. I put the larger plant into a 1 quart / 1 liter S/H container. The smaller one went into a Chinese hexagonal glazed low, wide orchid pot with lots of holes in the sides. I put sphagnum moss over the holes and used medium pumice to fill the pot. I put a layer of sphagnum over the pumice.
Both plants slowly matured their latest pseudobulbs. I kept looking for root growth and saw none on either plant.
This week both began growing new roots. It has been good and warm here for over a month. The smaller plant is also just beginning a new growth.
