update on new S/H planting

About a month ago I placed several oncids into S/H for the first time. I've had these plants for 3-4 years and only one of them has bloomed and that one plant has never grown well. I haven't been able to keep them adequately watered. So I thought I would show off what has happened.
The first pics show the two which I had the worst time keeping alive. They have really improved in the S/H and both have two pseudobulbs growing although slowly. After taking them out of the original pots I realized the root system wasn't as developed as I expected.
The second picture was of an plant that had a ton of aerial roots. I think it was Ray that said aerial roots worked well in S/H. I have to second that. This plant has doubled in size and the wrinkles in the P'bulbs are all gone. I wish I could say that about the accordian leaves.
The last two pics shows the new roots going to town on another oncid. Also the old Pbulb which is still quite shriveled is pretty much doubled in size from when I transplanted it. This is the plant which has bloomed before but not last year. I thought I was going to lose it this winter.

Please keep us updated. I'd love to see the progression of growth as the months go by. Are you growing indoors without any special equipment?

The wrinkles in the leaves will never go away, but I like to think they give the plant some character.

Congrats on your success! I put my oncids (all of them barely alive; I'm just not good with oncidiums) in S/H about 1.5 months ago, and they're EXPLODING with new growth! I'll put other 15-20 or my orchids in s/h tomorrow. I hope your plants keep thriving; keep posting the pics of their progress!

New Bloom, I don't have any equipment. Since a couple of them started with a smaller root system they were moved to an area away from direct light of the windows. Soon they will move back to a brighter location and in the summer outside for some day trips.

Congrats on your S/H success. The extra moisture, and good air space sure helps prevent pleated growths and rotted roots.
