Default Hydroton Deal?

I'm not sure if this is a good deal on the Hydroton, but it seems about right. ($34.99 for 50L bag) However, the shipping is only $4.99. Usually shipping is as much as the media.

So here you go FWIW. I thought it was a good deal and wanted to pass it on to those of you who might be interested.

I ordered 2 x 50L bags and total shipping was $4.99.

I don't know much about the pricing for Leca or Hydroton in the States, but that sounds almost too good to be true for me. If that's what they charged you, lucky you. See what the quality is like, and then stock up for years to come.

That sounds great! My closest hydroponics store sells I think 5gal (approx 18L) bags for $20. I thought that was a great deal compared to everything else I've seen. I don't remember the details, but I think the smaller bags from Home Depot end up being a little more expensive than that (per volume), but not too crazy.

I ordered 2 bags and my invoice shows total shipping for both bags as $4.99. Not $4.99 per bag, but $4.99 total.

I'm converting most of my collection over to save watering and potting time, so most people probably don't need this much for a new plant here and there. For me its great.

OK, so its been almost 2 weeks since I placed my order and I haven't heard a word from them. I noticed last night that they had changed their web page to say that the Hydroton might not qualify for the $4.99 shipping if ordered alone. It didn't say this when I ordered it on Nov 21.

Since they've charged my credit card, I assumed they had shipped, so I wrote them. They haven't shipped, and shipping is going to cost $35 extra.

This is really crappy. When were they going to let me know they weren't sending anything while they already had my money?

Fail!

I'm canceling my order. Even if I can't find a better deal, I'm not ordering from them.
