I just wanted to thank everybody here at OB - I'm actually having a great success with my Phal since I changed it to S/H.
I can grow "normal" plants, but I sucked at orchids. My first one, an Oncidium , I killed it because *gasp* I buried its roots on dirt - as on normal plants. Took me some years to shake off the failure and try again. Since then, (and after many many hours lurking here) I've been doing OK with try and error - try again.
And then, when I tried S/H, my babies started to thrive, to the point that my Phal have eleven new roots (it already had many healthy roots, so I must be doing something right!)
So, again, thanks everybody for sharing your knowledge. I'm deeply grateful, and I'm sure my babies are, too!
