Experiences with Phaius Tankersvillae in S/H Female
Default Experiences with Phaius Tankersvillae in S/H

Hi Again~~~~

I'm thinking of repotting my Phaius into S/H when the next time to repot comes along. Has anyone had much experience with this? I assume that it will do well as I have the proper lighting, temp, humidity. I would like to hear of others' Phaius adventures--it's a large plant & I'm quite attached to it.

TIA~~~
Pedi

Phaius tankervilleae will grow in just about anything if you keep the roots moist but not sopping wet. Adequate fertilizer is also a "must".

I successfully flowered this species for several consecutive years when I grew it in styrofoam peanuts only, not exactly a ringing endorsement for s/h!

I agree with Stitz, and DO have first-hand experience with the plant in S/H, and they do great.

My Phaius is fixin to bloom, like most everyone's are -- when do they start new roots -- I want to move mine over to s/h for the next season.

When I moved mine into S/H for the first time, I hadn't grasped the importance of new roots, so I just repotted, and it did fine.

I suppose the emergence of new growths is a good indicator.
