Question using hydroton for my nelly isler

I had a problem with my nelly isler because at first I was not watering enough, so the leaves becamw wrinkly. So I upped the waterings. Upon further examination, (thanks to bbs) I realized I had lost many roots because of this. So I stopped watering and placed it into an aquarium setup for humidity.

Just checked them last night and am down to just a few roots. I went out and bought some hydroton. Would this work? What should I do?

I heard they don't like well water, hydroton takes a lot of watering, have you thought of mounting it with spag?

I'm not quite sure how to do this. I'm very much a newbie and have been known to do things incorrectly.

repotme.com has some very good instructional videos and hints on mounting, try checking them out.

I am new to mounting as well, but it turned out to be much easier than I anticipated. So don't be intimidated by it. Now, I wish I could mount everything, lol....

Maybe you can buy another orchid that would do well in hydroton. Think of it as a license to buy, lol...
