How to clean Hyrdorton for re-use? Female
Question How to clean Hyrdorton for re-use?

I have some previously used Hydroton on hand. What type of rinsing mixture should I use and for long should Hydroton soak, before it can be used with a new plant?

Is 1 tbsp/gal water okay?

I did a site search and didn't find a thread addressing this question.

Are you going to use Physan to soak them in? if so a Tbs. a gallon should be fine .
What I do is rinse a lot to remove debris then soak in bleach water rinse and soak more to remove the bleach ,then boil them might seem like overkill, but virus can be hard to kill .

I don't soak mine in anything, I just boil it for about 10-15 minutes. Is the bleach also necessary?

Whatever you do, don't forget to also boil them.
