Divide 13 by the %N on the label. The result is ml/L for 125 ppm N.

The idea for misting the top of the LECA is to keep it moist and hospitable to new roots, so the answer is "whenever it is dry".

Aliflor is South American in origin, but I don't know specifically where.

How do I know this for sure?

I saw a few people trying SH down here and some plants showed leaf/flower deformations. This is why I want to make sure Im doing everything right.

I have never heard of semi-hydroponics leading to plant deformations, nor does it make any scientific sense. After all, all it effects is moisture and nutrient delivery to the plant, and the maintenance of air flow to the roots.

If there are deformations, either there is something "toxic" in the medium they are using, or they are otherwise poisoning their plants.

Giving it a bit more thought, the only time I have seen - and I do mean personally experienced - deformation, was due to the overuse of rooting hormones, which has absolutely nothing to do with s/h culture.

After almost a month my plants seem to be OK.

Lots of new root growing and the medium seems to be wicking water quite decently.

The dry line lies just an inch below the surface.
