keiki into s/h while still attached?
Default keiki into s/h while still attached?

Hi all,

I've got a keiki starting on my epidendrum radicans hybrid (tried everything to get the parent plant to live but no luck; oh well! Keikis!). I want to have this little guy go into s/h with no problems (instead of waiting till it's big enough to separate at which time the roots will be too big for the transfer. So, I put a small pot filled with leca under the keiki where the roots can grow. Has anyone else done this? Any tips or ideas is greatly appreciated .

Cheers,

Ryan

Usually works well, as the "mother" plant sustains the keiki while it gets established.

Thanks Ray! It looks like the plant has three or more keikis starting as the plant itself dies. I'll be putting lots of little leca pots on top of the leca in the mother pot to get these guys started.I really like this plant so I'll be thrilled if the babies all make it . Ty again.
