My first catt in semi-hydroponics

Hello!
I moved one of my catts in S/H in January this year and now it's really fine. A lot a new roots and I've lost only a few old roots. I have 4 new pseudobulbs and it looks like it is already adapted to the new media.

I use a usual pot with a ceramic pot as a reservoir. For the first 3 weeks or so, I didn't let the water in the ceramic pot. Just watered from time to time, when the media was dried.

Only one thing: the new psbs are very thin for the moment. I hope they will evolve...

Very interesting. I have a catt that i was thinking on putting in to s/h.

Did it take a long time to re-cover/adjust? Its looking well now as you say!

This is the result in 5 months. But it was looking well even before s/h.

Hi Nico!

I had two dieing Laeliacattleya hybrids, and I put them in Semi-hydro. 5 years later, they are are montster sized and one of them blooms regularly. Both never stop putting up new leaves.

It will start getting biger and bigger mine grew terrific since aug when I got them as babies and put right into s/h by that same method.It works great going to hydrotron and just watering and gradually going to full s/h

I think that "going to hydrotron and just watering and gradually going to full s/h" is the best method, at least for cattleyas. Now my catt have 4 new grows. It is in constant growing since last winter!

Do I have more plants in this pot? So many... things there...

Most of my catts are in sh. They tend to be bigger than the ones in bark. Sometimes they get too big, too fast and the roots will cause the pots to bulge.
