I grew two heirloom tomatoes and some dahlias in PrimeAgra last summer. I watered them throughly about every day with good fertilizer solution and they grew great. Lots of tomatoes and lots of flowers on the dahlias. They did better than what I was growing in soil in pots.

Hi Terry, How big was the container you used for the tomatoes?

I used a tomato specific container with a cage that actually had a fluid reservoir lower compartment. I forget the trade name. It was originally made for soil, but I just used some extra LECA that I had. The depth of the LECA was about 8-10 inches.

Bill;

I'm using a 5-gallon spackle bucket I liberated from my township plastic recycling dumpster. I also got a couple dozen from the spackle crew working at a new development across town.

Cheers.
Jim

I KNEW there was a reason I was collecting all those Costco powdered laundry detergent buckets......how perfect they will be.

This thread also made me think about another benefit of s/h I hadn't even considered before. ANTS!

Ants were constantly getting into my grow tent when I was growing in bark mixes and setting up their nests in my pots.

No problem now with only mounts and s/h.

If I were an ant I wouldn't want my home in primeagra.
