Default Where to get S\H media

I was wondering if anyone knows of any stores that sell the S/H media or is it mainly found only online. I have looked around and so far have not had any luck.

If you haven't already, try looking in the yellow pages for a hydroponics store within driving distance in your area.

Ray at firstrays.com is reasonable, great to deal with, and has everything you need. His pots are simpler than those with a guage (nothing to go bad or be 'off').

Find a hydroponics store near you, shouldn't be too hard and you don't have to have it shipped.

I also would check out Ray Barkalows website at firstrays.com. Read all his material - he's extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well. He regularly answers questions on this forum. The shipping to Victoria BC where I am, is quick and not too expensive. Im really happy with the ones Ive changed over - 14 or 15 over the last 8 months or so. Phals, BLC's , oncidium and cymbidium as well. All doing well lots of new growth and some flower spikes too!

First Rays is THE place to go.

I've been doing some experimenting growing orchid divisions in different Leca media. I've got several divisions of plants in both Rays PrimeAgra and Hydroton; same plant growing side-by-side and getting the same watering and fertilzer regimen. So far the PrimeAgra plants look greener, fuller, and overall healthier than the Hydroton plants.

Cheers.
Jim
