That may be how that paticular mold got its name but please believe me - it can affect orchids as well.
Cool wet conditions with poor air movement will make it show in affected plants.
One of the orchid societies I belong to has an excellent web site St. Augustine Orchid Society - Growing Orchids in North Florida Go to Culture and select Orchid Pests and diseases. Lot of nice information there.

I agree with you there. That's why on mine, I said I put the fan to dry out the Max. That's how I killed the mold. Then I changed my routine for the GH fans. I worked on the best possible placement of the fans for air circulation.

Also since I grow in mostly s/h Hydroton, I really don't have to worry too much about the medium, because it doesn't stay "wet" per se.

I really think that the Alcohol was the kicker along with the Physan. I only added Peroxide because I was desperate to kill it and I figured it was worth a try.

Air circulation was definitely a huge part of the solution in my case.
