Hmmm, I have no experience with that but have but why don't you tell us your growing conditions cause it might be as simple as giving it more light.

If it's not growing new canes, I doubt semi hydro would help, as it is probably a problem in culture conditions. Semi hydro is just a different way of growing plants, it's not a cure all that will miraculously bring a plant back to health or make it bloom.
How are you fertilizing? What sort of light does it get?

Also, do you know if it's a phal type or nobile type Den? That will make a difference in culture, as the latter need a cool dry winter to bloom.

If you do decide to continue with s/h, you need to time the transfer with the growth of brand new roots on the plant. Unfortunately with Dens, new roots usually appear when there is new growth.

Its definetly not a nobile den so it must be a phal type. I moved it to brighter light about a month ago so I will see if that helps. I would still like to try s/h though. I bought a Slc. jungle beau at the orchid show and it had no roots but is now starting to grow some. WOuld semi hydroculture work for this?

If your plant has only grown a single cane in that time, switching it to semi-hydroponics is not going to help a bit - there is a lot more deficient in your culture than having a constant water and nutrient supply will fix.

Any decent fertilizer will do, as long as it is complete with all minor and trace elements, and not overly-high in nitrogen.

As a starting point, divide 10 by the %N on the label, and use that many teaspoons per gallon to make up your solution, and use it every other watering.
