If it's water-soluble, why not?

Hi,
Just use the water soluble fert right along with the other orchids. I posted 3 pics yesterday, 2 are in SH and get regular Fert. Brassia Verrucosa, and Burdekin Wonder "lake land"

I am spraying a seaweed fertilizer on the underside of the leaves a couple of times a week. I am experimenting to see if it helps. Betty

I wonder have any folks used compost tea for this purpose? I don't have any true S-H plants just my own kind of modified set up and used compost tea last year for all my orchids. I didn't set up any trials so I can't say as how much it helped.

I do not think that using the organic fertilizer is a good option in the long run. Using it has its disadvantages.
Usually, dying plants or plants with severe nutrient deficiency will need minerals quickly, and this cannot be achieved by with organic fertilizers because of the slow release of their nutrients.
It is also nitrogen depleting, where nitrogen in the soil will be used up at a faster rate compared to the other nutrients in organic soil.
Furthermore, it is not easy to locate these organic fertilizers. Some areas do not provide these materials, and because of the lack of organic fertilizers sold, prices of these fertilizers are high, increasing the costs for farmers, and thus their selling costs.
This will have an impact on the people. As some people are already struggling to buy their food, they will suffer greatly when it comes to price increases.
Finally, making organic fertilizers instead of buying it can be very displeasing to many farmers because it requires some form of specialized skills.

Following are the few companies which makes organic fertilizer of great quality.

Soasis Neem:

Saosis Organic:

I've actually just started using an alfalfa tea foliar fertilizer spray...I've only used it once, but I don't see any negative side effects yet, so that's good! Plus I let it steep a little too long and the smell was a bit odd, so I'll try it again this week without letting it sit so long.
It's a pretty simple recipe...Just put 1/2 cup of alfalfa pellets per gallon in a sock or pantyhose and let steep at least 12 hours...after a few days it really begins to ferment, so I wouldn't suggest steeping it too long if you grow indoors.
Even though we live on a farm, my husband was complaining about the strength(stench) of the 4-5 day old solution

I use seaweed fertilizer on my chids and it really makes a difference for the ones in s/h. LAst year the new growths were kinda skimpy but they still bloomed and this year after using the seaweed fertilizer for a year the new growth buds are like 4 times bigger!
