Psychopsis in passive hydroculture
Has anyone tried a psychopsis in passive hydro? I am gathering a collection of these and would like to transfer them to passive hydro. Any help greatly appreciated.

Yep. They seem to do quite well for most folks.
I have never heard a "nope" from anyone who tried.

Thank you Ray, now to get up the courage to actually do it! I lost a prize one to over-watering and I think I'm being to careful with the ones I have. Since they don't come 'cheap', I'm a little gun shy.

I am growing two of them like that. One has been in S/H for about a year and needed repotting. I just placed the whole contents of that pot into a larger one and it is growing new roots already. I placed another one in S/H about a month ago and it seems to be doing well. I'm thinking of putting a large one into it also. I'm afraid of overwatering it in the medium it is in now. With clear pot I can see just what the roots are doing.
Good luck if you try it.

same for me, I have two hybrids in S/H since at least one year each, and both are growing very well... I currently have a papilio alba, which will jump into S/H soon too
What I do however, is I wait until the reservoir is empty (but the LECA is not yet dry) to water again...

Thank you Marilyn and Ramon, I'm waiting for LECA right now and will make the change over as soon as it arrives.
Ramon...........I have a seedling papilio alba, and the Psy. papilio too, in bloom now with two spikes. I think they are great plants but I do have to watch my watering and *think* before I pour.

As I have been told, the phrase "semi-hydro" is owned just as the word "orchidarium". Therefore, passive hydroponics is used. They are one in the same. Just "legal" to use passive hydro...
