New plants Male
Default New plants

Hi, after moving back to where i study and leaving my fatherīs orchids behind (god i hope they are doing ok) i suffered a severe attack of orchid needing and ended up buying two new plants xD
They are both rescues, from the "out of bloom and looking bad, so they are cheap" section in a greenhouse.
I bought a Phalaenopsis NOID, that has mealybugs, but is otherwise looking very good. I repotted it into S/H because the old medium was very very old. I removed a few dead roots but it still has plenty of green fat healthy roots.

The other plant is a poor looking Paphiopedilum. Since the medium was very decayed and broken down i decided to unpot it and check the roots. Only 4 roots left. I had to repot it on LECA since it was the medium i had at hand. What should i do with this plant? I was very surprised when i saw how different itīs roots are. I think i read Paphs struggle a lot when roots are damaged....is there any hope for a sad looking one with only 4 roots?
