Default Semi-hydroponic "Sphag and bag"

I thought this would fit here better.I have an Onc. on sphag and bag including the S/H pot. Now i also have a Dend. keiki and the Dend. mother plant in the same situation.
I was told that the problems iīve had with the keikis might have been caused by the roots not being able to adjust to S/H. So now iīm keeping the plants with no water in the reservoir, so the medium is not too humid. My question is....if the sphag and bag method works and i get new healthy roots, how and when should i adjust them to the S/H culturing???? Should i take the plants of the bag and start watering normally as soon as i see roots coming out?
Also should i mist if the medium starts to look too dry, or should i fight the urge to water/mist the plants at all?

Excuse the many questions. Any comments and help are always greatly apreciated.
