Default S/H without fertalizing (KLN ect)?

I live in Norway, and for some reason its not leagal to sell KLN or any form of roothormone to anyone but proffecionale growers...
Is it possible to grow chids in S/H without this? I have some chid-fertalizer made in Sweeden, kalled Bayer Orkiènäring.
(Dont know the english words, but here it goes)
Kväve(N) : 5,00%
Fosfor(P) : 2,20%
Kalium(K) : 4,20%
Magnesium(Mg) : 0,12%
Bor(B) : 0,02%
Järn(Fe) : 0,01%
Magnan(Mn) : 0,01%
Koppar(Cu) : 0,01%
Zink (Zn) : 0,005%
Molybden(Mo) : 0,005%

I use this once a week in the summer, and once a month in the winther.
Should i try to order some KLN, or other root-hormone(witch may not be that easy), or is this enoght for my plants in S/H?

Hi Lene,

the root hormones are only an extra push for your plants, and are different than the fertilizer.
I grow most of my plants in S/H and use KLN and/or Superthrive (both bought from the USA) only when changing them to S/H and during the soaking of LECA. As for fertilizer, I normally use Peter's Excel with very good results. I bought it at http://www.orchideen-wichmann.de/ozw...el_Duenger.php This fertilizer is very similar to the one recommended by Ray in his homepgae (I do not have the name now at hand...). I also ordered some of it from him, and am currently using it with some of my plants to see if there is any difference betwenn both.

I use it at 100 - 120 ppm N at every single watering (normally once a week, but for some plants more often e.g. Dendrochillum seems to be a very thirsty genus)

Thanks!
I would like to order some roothormone, it may be one of those things that is great to have just in case, but for the time beeing my chids seems fine without. I have resently repottet five of my chids into S/H, and im hoping they will do fine too... One of them would definately benefit from some help of anything root-stimulating, but it had several new small roots growing, so ill just have to take the time and hope itll pull thru.

Also check hydroponics stores for kelp extracts. Some kelps are naturally high in chemicals quite similar to the synthetic rooting hormones found in K-L-N and SuperThrive.
