Default Sedirea Japonica (project plant) in S/H

I put my Sedirea Japonica in S/H on April 6,2008 for the project,it seems to be doing very well, but it has only been a month, if any one else has any success or failure with this in S/H please give comments. Here are some pictures of mine.

Wow that looks great! I would think s/h would be a good choice for this orchid since it seems to really like staying moist I have noticed!

Ramon,
Thanks for asking, it is doing fine ,it has grown 2 new leaves but no new roots so I don't know if it is truly happy, when I get it to rebloom then I will know that I have been a success with S/H.

Hi Lucky,

I too am having trouble growing new roots on this plant.
Please let us know if you are successful. I saw a beautiful specimen grown by someone in my orchid society in S/H but it was grown in a greenhouse with high humidity which I cannot provide.

Mine is not in s/h, but I was having trouble getting roots as well. Mine is in sphag. About a month ago I started a routine of lightly misting the top of the moss and existing roots twice a day (not the plant), and now I'm getting nice root growth. The added humidity restarted 2 roots which stopped growing this summer and a new one is now poking out. I'm pretty amazed at the results.

Here are a couple of pics of the progress of my Sedirea today, still in S/H, you judge , is it happy or just living?

Also note that in the middle pic the roots are turning black.
