Beads of water? on Phals
I have lots of phals in s/h that are putting out numerous new growths, BUT, the new growth has what appears to be beads of water on them. Is this something I need to be worried about? ruthann

Good sign. The plant is completely hydrated. Don't do any more frequent watering. You're doing just fine with that schedule.

My husband caught me tasting the sap from my oncidium and he refused to try it. I tricked him by putting some on my lips and I kissed him. He asked why my lips were so sweet and I told him it was my orchid. ever since then, whenever I buy a new orchid, he asks if he can try it. Weird, but cute.

Be wary of that if the place you get the new plant uses systemic insecticides.

If they do use systemic insecticides .. at least you won't catch a 'bug'.

Oh Ray, now I understand the meaning of "Iconoclast" You are right, of course but the threat is probably not that great. But then, I went throught Agent Orange, Dioxine, etc. so I get the point. Well stated.
