Removing keikis from Dendro 'Pegasus' canes

My Dendro. 'Pegasus' has begun developing keikis in the leaf axils of the largest cane. The keikis have developed roots a couple of mm long (about 1/8 - 1/4 inch).

I want to remove a couple and try this plant as semi-hydro. Having never done this before, what's the best way to remove some keikis and how long should I let the roots develop before I start removing them?
