Well, as long as we're going to play nice now, I will say this. Dustin, (and I'm not pressing you to reconsider anything) I'm not sure if you saw it or not, but I have just a few plants total. About half are in s/h. Watering often is easy for me and takes little time. However, taking a large number of plants to a sink to water, no matter how often, is just plain out of the question for me. If I had many plants to care for, I would find another method for delivering water. Distribution ideas are a dime a dozen and I'm sure, if you had the desire, could find one that would work for you no matter your media.
I hope you stick around. Another group of ideas can only enrich the forum.

Well, back to the original topic

Sade, I checked your climate data, and I think you can expect very good results from S/H.
I have a dozen Vandaceous and around 30 Phal in either pure LECA, pure rockwool or a blend of both, and they're really going strong.

Our climates are roughly similar, albeit yours is a bit warmer and more humid, which is perfect for what you grow.

After a few trials with the S/H method presented on Ray's website, I made a few adjustments to the technique to better fit my needs.
Because RH during the day here is almost always sub 20%, and wind permanent, the top layer of the pot would dry very fast, giving a hard time to seedlings and plants with new roots.

The S/H variation that works best for me consists in standard, super cheap horticultural pots with holes in the bottom, with a blend of LECA/rockwool, and a top layer of rockwool.
Heavy drinkers are in a saucer with about 1cm of water, others are kept above a tray that collects water that drips when flushed (which is arguably S/H at all).
All are sprayed daily, and heavily watered once a week minimum.

Don't worry too much about pH, container shape and whatnot, you'll soon know what to tweak!

Please, could you give me feedback regarding these 2 Expanded Clay?

I understand one float more, but is anything else good or bad of each item?/

They are probably both good. Apparently made from different clays and/or fired differently.

If it cools the roots of a plant that likes warmth, Oops.

If you try to grow a plant that is probably “too cool” for your growing conditions, the evaporative cooling might help you out.

@ray so this should be good for the masdevallia? O their salt sensitivity could be an issue. For example, I only use RO and very light 20-20-02 fertilizers

That was how I grew masdies. Fertilizer should be no more than 25 ppm N (approximately 0.115 ml/L for a 20% N fertilizer).
