Default Help choosing a RO unit

Hi. I live in the UK and want help choosing an RO unit for my collection of 150 or so orchids all in s/h. I want something that just fits on the garden tap in the OH and can fill up a plastic barrel and any excess can just go onto the floor. Would something like this be suitable

Yes, that would definitely fit your requirements.

Please be aware that the “100 gpd” capacity is rated with the water being 65 psi (450 kpa) and 77F (25C) as it enters the membrane housing. Anything lower will decrease the output.

My 200 gpd system in my greenhouse in Pennsylvania operated off of a well that was 30’ in front of my house, then ran 125’ to the greenhouse through a 1” pipe 4’ underground. In winter, I got about 60-75 gallons/day out of it.

By contrast, I build the identical unit to the one you’re looking at, but use 50 gpd, low-pressure membranes (25 psi). Right now, I am getting about 95 gpd out of mine, as my municipal water pressure here in North Carolina is considerably higher.

Thanks Ray. I will only need to fill my barrel up once a week so it should produce plenty for my needs. BTW I read a lot of your posts and last Autumn (I know wrong time) I moved everything to s/h as I feared many might not have make the winter otherwise. So far the results have been impressive and I am getting root growth and even flowers on plants that have never flowered before. Now it is spring I am looking forward to watching them thrive.
