First spikes for rescues!
Default First spikes for rescues!

I've had a rough couple years, and so have my orchids. I converted almost all my orchids to Semi Hydro before my life blew up in 2019, and then unfortunately my orchids suffered from a little benign neglect. They've been growing really slowly primarily on the densely shaded back porch, and only recently came in for the winter. Since many of them were picked up at the bargain table of the local nursery, I haven't seen many of them flower. I just bought any bulb type orchids that hit the $5 table.

Looks like I finally get to find out what two of them look like!

Thanks, I'm pretty excited about it, and now I need to be very patient. I actually bought a Sharry Baby in spike to replace a younger one that I killed, so I'm looking forward to a lovely December of flowers!

This month I've got a Cattleya with a sheath forming after the last pseuobulb put out a dry sheath. I've got four or five phals happy enough to spike finally (They are in clay pots mostly). All in all, I've got about 10 spikes forming!
