I am very new here, so I apologize if this is the wrong board.
I am specifically looking for a miniature orchid. Basically, I have an aquarium with a portion of a trunk of wood sticking out of the water. It has a waterfall-like feature with water flowing from the top back into the aquarium, mainly on one side. I would like to tie an orchid to the side of the trunk for it to eventually permanently attach itself.
The water is RODI water that I reconstitute to very soft levels, minimal minerals, due to fish needs. I can adjust the flow of the water, depending on what the plant needs. I can also have the pump turn off for regular intervals throughout the day, if the plant needs to slightly dry out from time to time. Also, depending on where I put the orchid on the trunk, more or less of the root section will have water flowing over it.
The water is kept at 75°F. I can turn a fan on the ceiling to circulate some air, but I was also thinking that I could add a small computer fan to specifically blow air around the orchid.
Here is an image of the trunk. The water flows over the end opposite of this side:
I have been researching on Andy's Orchids, but I'm still unsure. Please let me know if I can provide any further information or if there are any questions.
Thank you!
