so i noticed this in one of my 'recovery' SH containers and i am not sure if i need to repot or if i should let it ride and push its way out

as you can see it is one of those "climbing" catt -types and is now growing from both the lead point and the rear bulbs that i oriented down to try to set the plant up well when i initially potted her

my thoughts are to take it out and toss it in a terra cotta pot as i do with others OR leave it and see if it can climb out.

What do you do with sympoidial plants that don't end their form to a vase?

I would leave it alone. Plants are smarter than we are.

I'd leave it. Don't disturb any new roots unnecessarily. Also just to see what happens. Anyway, you have growth from the top lead point, so it's not a disaster if the lower one doesn't make it. (Easy for me to say, I know.)

Leave it as is and see what happens, IF you plan on continuing to grow it in SH.

Take out and mount or throw into a pot, IF that's how you intend for it to grow later down the line. You have the humidity to do either.

It has enough root now to go either way... but I wouldn't leave it in SH if you plan on a different way of growing as it gets larger. Grow new roots in the medium or mount you plan to keep it in. It isn't gonna stop climbing ya know.

In the future, don’t plant it so damned deep! The rhizome should be right at the surface, not submerged.

The rhizome is vertical. I struggle with these plants and orienting them in SH. If i put the rhizome at the surface it would be laying on its side.

I have a few like that in SH. I just use a pot with a higher dry line and bury just like you've done. So roots are in moist wicking LECA, and top inch or so dries rapidly. In your climate, I still think a basket or mounting is better for the crawlers.
