I have transplanted phals, cyms, dens, and tenufolia, and 3 "I don't know" orchids into s/h. I am getting new roots and new leaves. All are thriving!! I am now adding other plants e.g. pineapple lilies, avocado, lummeria, & others. They too are doing well. I am a firm believer in s/h. Give s/h a try, I'm so glad I did!! ruthann

Did you start the avocado in s/h or did you wait until it had sufficient roots to do that?
