Thank you very much for your comments Snow, I actually left the reservoir filled up half way just to prevent it from being super wet.
Well I did it! Yesterday I transferred my phal to s/h, I did notice growth, when I un potted it had lost of "nubbins" underneath which I'm guessing are roots :P it did have some damage still but I carefully removed all organic matter from the bark and some of the rot of a couple roots but by the feel of the rest it seemed like it had plenty of good ones, I did dust it with cinnamon just to dry it off. The pics show the root system before and after it was cleaned, the only thing though, I am uploading a pic of the leaves they had weird blackish spots that really freaked me out.
I'd very much appreciate your feedback, and of course your comments and wonderful advice on those spots.

Oh you guys I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's to soon to tell. Is been only a few days and the 2 bottom leaves on my phal are turning yellow and wrinkly but the rest of the plant (including the flower spike) looks good
Did any of your phals struggle a little? could it be that is sheding leaves due to growth? am I overeacting here?
Please aadvise, thank you !

Priz, I believe your Phal will be just fine. It has some good roots and your leaves didn't look that great anyway ( The ones with the spots). I will bet this will one will recover just fine. Deep breath now.

Not to be a wet blanket here, but from looking at your pictures you basically have one and a half roots to support that whole plant plus it's spike. That size root "system" can't possibly support that many leaves and a spike. If it were my plant I would cut off the spike (put it in a vase and it will last amost as long as on the plant) or risk losing the whole plant. The leaves are wrinkling because they are losing turgor pressure. The one root can't suck up nearly enough water to keep the leaves rigid. You could also tent a plastic bag over the plant to keep the humidity up so the one root doesn't have to work quite so hard.

Good catch Terri! I completely forgot that there was a spike there too. I agree, I would definately cut that sucker off.

Hi Sarah,
Here's my 2 cents!
Empty your water reservoir after every watering until new growth appears or after one month.
Then fertilize and fill up the water reservoir as you would with true s/h.
The other tip: keep the phal in a warm spot and not too much light.
My last rescue looked a bit like yours! Be patient!

Buds! your story is inspiring indeed! I hope my phal has the same luck yours did
Just as or curiosity, should everything go wrong ... could I root the flower spike?
Any thoughts how I could do that???
