I would say leathery would be a good description...so water the roots more, but be careful not to mist the leaves too much, so water doesn't collect in the crown? Am I understanding right?

It had a couple of good little buds on it when he was put into viv. Those died, then it sprouted a few new ones within a week of transfer. Those died. I'm about a month out now, and he has another...

I have a potted orchid from a king soopers that when the flowers died off, the stalk turned brown and dead(?) - the leaves on the bottom are doing great - do I cut this thing off and hope for...
