Color forms should be forma (or f.), such as:]
f. flava or flavum = yellow (due to lack of anthocyanins)
f. rubra = red (due to extra anthocyanins)
f. alba or album = white (due to lack of all pigments)
However, before that became commonly understood, some such color variations were published in scientific journals with a varietal name. And, once published, it is valid.
