Default Are Epi's still called Epi's?

I'm looking for culture tips on what I believe to be an Epidendrum of some sort and I"m feeling a bit challenged. Has the genus name changed or been reclassified in some way?

I would ask for an ID but the plant is so small and has so few leaves that I'm not sure a photo would even help. I would like to figure out how to produce a flower and then maybe try to figure out what it is. I've seen similar plants mounted on bark or tree fern, but my plants all grow outside, so I"m not really set up for that. I think would be too hot and dry during parts of the year here.

Is it a reed-stem type, or does it have fatter pseudobulbs?

If it's the former, it's probably still an epidendrum, but if the latter, they were reclassified as encyclias, and some of them underwent further modifications to stuff like anacheilium.

I don't see it but, you could start another thread if you'd be more comfortable.
