Hello Everyone: Beginner at Orchid Seeds
Hello:
I have been growing orchids for year. My son knows how much I love them so he thought for Mothers Day he would get me something that was different ( He thought if I could raise Sea Horses I could do this) so he bought me Monkey Face seeds. I have never grown orchids from seeds. So I bought The medium and bottles but the medium instructions have in it something I don't understand. It says ADD DESIRED HEAT STABLE PRIOR TO AUTOCLAVING. What is heat stable?

There's a word missing or a problem with translation in that instruction. Heat stable additives can be added to media before autoclaving, but some organic compounds or complex additives will break down from the heat. I presume that is what they are referring to. Sterile additions of those things can be made after the media is autoclaved and cooled somewhat, but before it begins to solidify.
Good luck with the germination. The typical offers I see for monkey face orchid seeds usually appear to be scams.

Sorry to say, but if the seeds are large enough to look like anything other than dust, they are not orchids.

Orchid Seed
I figured it is a scam the seeds just arrived and they are way to big to be orchid seeds. Thank you for your help.

Orchid seed sprouting media need to be sterilized in a pressure cooker or autoclave before sowing. The mineral salts, water and agar are stable at these high temperatures, but other vitamins and growth promoting substances may not be. These are added after the heating.
