Can you help? Alliance per Genus List needed

I'm hoping someone has already done this or can point me in the right direction. I am building an Excel spreadsheet to facilitate plant registration at my Orchid Society shows. I have a list of abbreviations for genus names, and I've already written the code to look up one from the other.

What I am looking for is the orchid Alliance for each genus so that I can "error proof" the class registration such that the user can only choose a class that is appropriate for the orchid alliance. My goal is to reduce obvious errors in registration such as a Phal ending up in a Cattleya class

Alliances I've seen used are Cattleya Alliance, Paphiopedilum Alliance, Sarcanthinae Alliance, Phalaenopsis Alliance, Oncidium Alliance, Cymbidium Alliance, Dendrobium Alliance, Pleurothalid Alliance, etc.

I hope this makes sense and someone know where to find such a list! Otherwise, I have a lot of work to do....

I don't know if this suggestion might make it easier for you - but have you thought about grouping the different orchid genera to their subtribes instead?

You could easily look these up without too much effort.

Jay's Internet Orchid Encyclopedia mentions the tribe and the subtribe that each genera belong to.

Grouping by subtribes might also be general enough, but specific enough, so that you don't have to start separating them into too many smaller groupings as you might have to do if you did the organizing by alliance.

I think 'Understanding Orchids' by William Cullina has a table sort of what you are looking for.
