Call Golden Gate Orchids, I saw a bunch of coccinea today.
In regards to your coccinea x digybana pursuit, have you ever seen any of the Lowara Spitfire or other Lowara crosses? Unless you want to start from the pinnacle of each species and build from there I suggest you check some of them out to consider likely outcome. I can't remember what Rlc. Fate looks like and I don't want to discourage your efforts but thats a long process to embark on.
Making triploids isn't the worst thing either. Unless your intention isn't end of the line. Sometimes there are benefits of having that extra set of chromosomes dominate. ie Using walkeriana 4N with xx 2N better chance for fragrance to come through. I had been looking up alaorii x cernua and the results weren't impressive to be honest. Using a suspected diploid white alaorii to a tet cernua should be a better plant than those I saw pictures of with washed out color and an in between shape.
and hey, there is always hexaploids if you really have to do something with it right?
