So... If I'm understanding correctly...

I never have to drink alone again! The orchids will happily join me. Yay!

I tried a beer fertilizer for about 6 months but did not notice any improvements in plants. Since it called for epsonsalts as an ingreedient, this also increased the importance of leaching monthly to remove the salts.

If you look into the use of alcohol on plants (the patent used methanol), you'll find that the alcohol-to-fertilizer solution ratio has to be between 1:1 & 2:1 to be effective.

It applies to both C3 and CAM plants, but apparently only high-light ones, where the enhanced cell wall permeability allows better transfer of sugars and the like, while lower light plants can handle that adequately without the enhancement.

Also, to the use of "bloom boosters" - they don't boost anything. If you've been feeding high nitrogen levels, it can suppress blooming, so switching to a lower-N ratio might "allow" them to bloom normally. A plant given ideal culture will bloom to its maximum genetic ability; there is nothing that's going to improve on that.

more questions came to mind ...
why vodka in specific if beer, wine and many other alcohol beverages contains alcohol? not to mention listerine. is there something else more specific in vodka that doesn't exist in other alcohol beverages?
does beer has different effect than vodka?
what are the side effects?
article in aos.org says using ethanol or methanol for cleaning leaves could penetrate the plant tissues and cause considerable damage, then how could it be good as fertilizer?

So far I am trying Epsom salts and seaweed; vodka will have to wait, lol.
