So far it seems unanimous - no tag changes. That's where I fall, too. I've had some orchids through 3 or 4 name changes, and I assume there will always be more.

I'll take that as a "no."

I think I'll have a cup of tea, a panadol and a nice lie down until the dust settles.

No need to apologize, Jan. I appreciate your input very much. I can tell you are passionate about the subject and I admire that.

My main concearn about just resisting and not changing anything is this - eventually (as you said) they will change again. If I stay at step 1 because I don't like steps 2 or 3, than when they do make a change that we agree with, we can't connect the dots. It's a process and if we loose sight of current changes, it may be difficult for some of us (hobbyists) to understand how and why we got there. Since we only take one step at a time, it's important to me that I understand the implications of each name change. I probably won't change all my tags, but I might go ahead and put updated names on the back to help me keep track of where we are in the name game.

Will you come do that to all my tags when you're done?

I am and always have been in the camp of splitters. I think it is important to pay attention to smaller delineations of genera. Ecology says a lot about a species, as does anatomy.
