OH boy its tough to try to do something virtually Impossible, these beauty's need to stay home not home grown SORRY just like to keep them right where they live....

Don't need to apologize, I believe your heart is in the right place and you have a right to your opinion. However.....In my opinion.. why shouldn't I have one and try to grow one if they are commercially available and I happen to love them as much as someone may love another species. I am not saying go take what you want and deplete our resources(of anything). But I think if someone is growing them and breeding them succesfully, won't this help ensure that they don't become extinct? Personally, I hope one day I could own a really big juicy one right on one of my own trees in my backyard, right next to my vandas and phals, and cattleyas...I'll be really late for work then, oh well.

Unfortunately I have seen to many pouched Ghost orchids lately. very sad. I think the people that are taking them from the wild don't know that they are available commercially. So in my opinion the more they are available to the public the less chance of them taking them out of the wild.

I bought a legal one and it did nothing! Notta! Just dried up. And mine was in my tank at 99% humidity, breezy, warm, etc. And notta. This is not an orchid for the casual grower, in my opinion. I understand the mistique, but trust me folks, not for the inexperienced.

Ross, I think the air movement dried it out to fast. Mine is low in the tank and is growing well. Mist daily with only an average of 60 to 70% humidity.

I have mine laying on a small tray with an upside down jar over it. A slight tilt to the jar(sorta anchored) allows a little air circulating.There is also a teenie cafe plastic cup holding water to add humidity. Although it hasn't grown it is still very green looking.

I'd be willing to try once again, but not right now. The area it was in got really little air movement nd really high humidity.

Ross I think that 99% humidity is a bit too high it's like if you were drowing it therefore it might have rooten away
