Hey guys! So I was considering buying off a website called plant cell technology. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Looks interesting. Also interesting is that their office is in one of the most expensive parts of Washington, DC, the Imperial Capital.

Like most cities, that part of DC took a hit on office rentals during the covid pandemic. It's not a particularly nice building, so I wouldn't bet on it being too expensive for DC.

They have this machinery it’s supposed to make flasking easy but it’s expensive. I want to try flasking at home. Should I give it a try? It’s like over 200 dollars USD

I’m talking about buying there equipment for orchid flasking haha. They have good reviews. It’s expensive like 300 USD for a basic kit

I suggest that you do a LOT of reading on the flasking process. The most critical part is maintaing sterility. Generally you'll be wanting some sort of a hood to maintain sterile air where you're working. There are some notes on the Orchid Board describing approaches that people have taken. Before you spend any money at all, make sure you're addressing the important issues. You'll also find a few currently-active contributors on the Board who have been doing this with success. Consider PMing them for more in-depth discussion.

So that's the thing. They send you all the equipment you need like the gels and all of the necessary stuff. I can get the sterile environment done.

So by basic kit you mean $300 for media, some containers and such? That sounds horrifically overpriced. I'm in the EU so can't directly compare, but if I wanted to sow orchids I could get a sowing and replating kit for under 50 euros.

Don't forget to plan what you'll do with, probably, a large qty of plants (if you succeed).
