Darn I was thinking of adding this genera to my collection, unsafe for kids though, than again it will freak the neighbors out

Though it can give you a pretty good 'sting', these flowers are so exotic!
It was a big mistake for me to show my son the triggering mechanism on this flower - pretty soon, all the blooms were drooping (once the pollinia is ejected, this sexually aggressive plant has done its job, and the flowers start to die). The sticky disc is very, very persistently adherent.
Now, he checks out each new plant I bring into the house to see if it's one of *those*.
