I have Vanda seedlings that are 8 months out of the flask. They have good and in some cases very long roots although the roots are thin. They were grown on shade cloth and are the longest root I have ever seen on seedlings. The shade cloth was hung vertically so the plants at the top were bigger. I have put the top 5 in baskets I am just not sure at what size I should let them grow bigger.
Are you going to grow in pots? If you're in a warm, humid part of Queensland, you can easily hang them bare-root. They will require rain or watering every day, if you bare-root them.

I am in Cairns. They are going in plastic baskets with volcanic rock. At present my Vanda's are being watered twice daily. I have already put 7 in baskets. I am not sure what size is too small to put in the baskets. I have lots of Vanda's , but this is my first go at seedlings.
thankyou for you advice. on the top seedling the plants were larger and the root systems extensive, but the lower plants have good root systems it just the leaves are smaller in size. I will continue with my 'basketing'.
