Default Recommendation? Labe service for seed sowing, please?

I have a mature Cattleya seed pod I'd like to farm out to a lab for sowing. The one plance I determined was a good choice wrote back and said they were "offline for renovation" (Post Hill Lab).
What about Gallup & Stribling? Who else is there here in the US?

Thanks,
Paul

I never got flasks from the first lab I tried. Last two years I have sent pods to Orchid Origins, and expect flasks over the next few months.

There are other labs listed on the Orchid Mall. Also see Troy Meyers.

Thank you. I've contacted them.

Well, I got an email from Orchid Origins and they are not currently accepting flasking jobs, since they are moving to a new facility and won't be back in service till early July. Anyone have any other labs to recommend??

PS: I looked at all of the US-based labs listed on Orchid Mall and several of them are no longer in business, or have web presences that haven't been updated in years, and some simply no longer offer seed sowing services. In all, the list of labs on Orchid Mall is pretty much defunct. So I am still looking. Help?!

Greetings oh mighty grinder of whims!

There are some labs that may only be willing to flask for big operations. You might inquire of some orchid vendors to see if they would be willing to share information on the lab(s) they use. Also, should your cross be of enough interest, perhaps there might be some vendors who would be willing to submit your pod through their lab service in exchange for some of the flasks?

Don't know if you have the space time or interest to try home flasking the pod yourself. There have been folks, if I recall correctly, on this forum who have done so w/o any expensive lab equipment.

Mrs. Root's Orchids ( Debbie Root) in California is another one.
Her email address is: rootsorchids@gmail.com. Phone #(714)895-7828

She has a five replate minimum per seed capsule or use to. Not sure if she is currently accepting new customers, but worth a shot.

Look up Rockbridge Lab in Ohio. Dawn Mettler. Sorry, I don't have contact info at hand.
