Steam Bath Experiment Update.
The one flask I sowed over the steam bath is contaminated. No big loss, remember the seeds were very immature and probably not yet viable, and there are LOTS more seeds.
I'm pretty sure it was the technique (or MY technique) because all the flasks sat for several weeks after autoclaving and showed no contamination. The ones I opened inside the sterile glove-box are all fine (No germination yet, but no fuzzy white stuff either). But the only one contaminated was the one opened in the non-sterile environment of my stove top over a steam bath.
Some of the same batch, with no contamination, include:
-One flask that I opened in between two big paper towels soaked in alcohol.
-And one flask that was not even pressure-cooked! The jar and medium where only boiled for 20 min. I was fully expecting this one to go bad. Not yet. It's got seeds in it now!
