Kelpmax on den cane cuttings?

I got three dendrobium mobile canes at the Green Thumb festival today. I followed the seller and you tubes instructions on getting them set up, but how often should I apply the kelpmax? Will it encourage keikis?

Using a one tablespoon per gallon concentration (4 ml/L), soak the canes for a couple of hours, then lay them flat on moist sphagnum.

The stuff is intended to grow new roots, rather than keikies, but the natural chemicals in it do all sorts of stuff, so that can't be ruled out. Either way, it will activate the cuttings into growth.

After that, use it once a month as a drench, always at that concentration.
