Hello everyone
Was bit confused on seeing my phalenopsis after repotting.
The leaves were growing very healthy and dark green in colour which was there natural colour.
But the problem was that it had all the roots rotted and after cutting the dead roots not even a single root was left.
I potted it again with coconut husk and fir bark.
After 45 days also the leaves of the plant are very healthy but there is no new root growth is seen.
So is the plant alive or dead????
Your views will be very beneficial for me
Hi,
from your description it seems that the plant is recovering.
Orchids have very slow growth and the formation of new roots can take months.
It would be helpful to see photos.
The lack of roots could cause dehydration, which manifests itself with wrinkles on the leaves.
You should try to keep a good level of humidity around the plant and protect it from excessive heat.
I hope this is of help,
ciao Nicola
